About

Hi, I'm Amy

A coach for children & parents.

Amy Hughes

Hey, I'm Amy — mum to two teenagers, a qualified mental health coach, and someone who truly understands how tough parenting can get, especially when your child is struggling. I'm a passionate advocate for children and I'm proud to be 'that parent'. I believe every parent should be their child's biggest cheerleader — and I teach and empower parents to do just that.

Parenting is rewarding, but let's be honest — it can also be incredibly painful and isolating. When your child is facing challenges with their mental health, school, friendships, or just life in general, it hurts. The constant worry, feeling like you should 'fix' things but not knowing how, and the quiet moments when you doubt yourself — I've been there.

That's why I do what I do. I created Together Education to offer a safe space for parents, free from judgement or unrealistic expectations. Whether you're navigating education choices, worried about your child's emotional wellbeing, or just feeling overwhelmed, I am here to listen. Properly listen.

I bring empathy, understanding, and a calm voice when everything feels chaotic. I'm not here to tell you how to parent, but to stand alongside you and share what's worked for others. No shame, no 'perfect parent' nonsense — just honest support.

"When a child feels emotionally safe, they begin to trust the world again. That's where real support starts — not with pressure, but with presence."

My why

Lived it. Learned it. Here to help.

Like many parents, I've lived the overwhelming stress, fear, and heartbreak of watching my child suffer in a system that just didn't meet her needs. My youngest daughter developed EBSA — she wanted to go to school, but emotionally, she just couldn't.

We had to hold firm and dig deep to truly understand what she needed. Slowly, through collaboration, compassion, and consistency, we built a plan with her school that worked. She's still in school now — engaging and learning on her terms — and I'm proud every day of how far she's come.

Before that, we'd made the tough decision to remove our older daughter from school back in 2021 after years of battling with schools, police involvement, and feeling completely powerless. What followed was a journey of healing and helping her find her own path. Against the odds, she smashed her core GCSEs at 14 and is now thriving.

These experiences — plus my background in education — opened my eyes to how often children's emotional needs are misunderstood by the systems meant to support them. So I became a qualified children's mental health coach, and I'm now on a mission to support parents and young people facing the same battles.
